Back Up Applications:

1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
2. Tap "Settings" and go to "Backup and reset"
3. You need to be logged in to your Google account to back up your apps, so if necessary tap "Backup account" > "Add account" and follow the on-screen prompts to sign in with, or create a new Google account
4. Mark the "Back up my data" check box

Restoring Apps:

1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
2. Tap "Settings" and go to "Backup and reset"
3. Sign in to the Google account you've used for backing up the apps. To do so, tap "Backup account" > "Add account" and follow the on-screen instructions
4. Mark the "Automatic restore" check box

Backing Up Contacts:

1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
2. Tap "Settings" and select the account to sync
3. Mark the "Contacts" check box
4. Press "Menu" and tap "Sync now"

NOTE: Contacts will automatically be restored the next time you sign in with your Google account

Backing Up Media Files:

1. Open the apps drawer and launch the "Photos" app
2. Press "Menu" and tap "Settings"
3. Tap "Auto Backup"
4. Tap the "Auto Backup" switch and set it to "ON"
5. You need to be logged in to a Google account, so if necessary, tap "Backup account" > "Add account" and follow the on-screen instructions to log in or create a Google backup account
6. Set the "Backup Storage" preferences as you desire
7. Set the "Backup Settings" preferences
8. To learn more about backing up media files using this method, tap "About Auto Backup"

NOTE: Media files will be restored automatically after you sign in with the Google account used for the backup
