    Restoring Applications:

    1. Sign in with the Google or Samsung account used for the initial backup
    2. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
    3. Swipe to "User and Backup" and then tap "Accounts"
    4. Tap "Samsung" or "Google", depending on the type of account you've used initially
    5. Tap the "email address" at the top of the screen
    6. Tap "Sync all"
    7. Press the "Back" key twice to return to the "User and Backup" screen
    8. Tap "Backup and reset"
    9. Under "Backup and Restore", mark / clear the check boxes associated with "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore"

    Restoring Contacts

    From the SD Card:

    1. Make sure the SD card containing the contact backup is installed on your phone
    2. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
    3. Go to "Settings" and swipe to "Applications"
    4. Tap "Contacts" > "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
    5. Tap "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card"
    6. Follow any additional steps to import the backup file's contents to your phonebook

    From a Samsung or Google Account:

    1. Sign in with your Google or Samsung account
    2. Access the "Settings" menu
    3. Swipe to "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
    4. Select "Samsung" or "Google", depending on the type of account you have used for the initial backup
    5. Tap the "email address" at the top of the screen
    6. If necessary, mark the "Sync Contacts" check box
    7. Tap "Sync now"

    Restoring Media Files

    From the SD Card:

    1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
    2. Launch "My Files" and tap "All files"
    3. Tap "SD card" and press "Menu"
    4. Tap "Select" and mark the check boxes next to the media files you wish to restore
    5. Tap "Menu" and select "Move"
    6. Select "Device storage" > "Move here"
    7. If you wish to move the items in a different location, tap the folder name or "Create folder"

    From a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 to your computer via USB
    2. Drag the "Status" bar down and mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
    3. Click "Open device to view files" in the "AutoPlay" window
    4. Access the phone's SD card or internal storage directory
    5. Launch a second Windows Explorer window and navigate to the backed up files
    6. Transfer the files to your phone to restore them
    7. After the transfer is done, eject the phone's storage via the "Mass Storage Device" icon located in the system tray, and safely disconnect your smartphone

    From a Mac Computer:

    1. Establish a USB connection between the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 and your Mac
    2. Swipe the "Status" bar down
    3. Tap "Media device"
    4. Open Kies on your Mac and click the "Back up / restore" tab
    5. Access the "Restore" tab if necessary
    6. Mark the check boxes next to "Music", "Photo" and other types of media files you wish to restore
    7. Click "Restore" and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
    8. After the transfer is done, eject the phone's virtual drive from the desktop and safely disconnect the smartphone from the Mac
