Clear App Cache and / or Data:

NOTE: In case one of your apps isn't working properly, you can try fixing it by clearing the application's cache. If this fails, you can also try clearing the app's data.

WARNING! Clearing an app's data will result in the deletion of all personal information stored within the app, including saved games, settings, login information, high scores and so on.

    1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
    2. Access "Settings" and swipe to "Phone"
    3. Tap "Apps" and go to the "All" tab
    4. Select the desired app and tap "Clear cache"
    5. To remove the app's data, tap "Clear data" > "OK"

    Wiping the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your smartphone isn't working properly and you're thinking about master resetting it, then you might want to try fixing it by first clearing the cache partition. This way you might be able to solve the problems without losing any personal data stored on the phone's internal memory. To wipe the cache partition:

    1. Turn off the Desire 826
    2. Press and hold "Volume Down"
    3. While holding the "Volume Down" key, press and release "Power"
    4. Keep holding the "Volume" button until three Androids appear at the bottom of the screen
    5. In the "HBOOT" menu, press "Volume Down" to navigate to and highlight "Recovery"
    6. Press "Power" to enter recovery mode
    7. When the phone displays a red triangle and exclamation mark, press "Power" and "Volume Up" at the same time
    8. Once in the Recovery menu, press "Volume Down" until you highlight "Wipe cache partition"
    9. Press "Power" to select the highlighted option
    10. Your phone will wipe the cache and should then display "Cache wipe complete"
    11. With "Reboot system now" highlighted, press "Power"

NOTE: If wiping the cache partition hasn't helped and you need to factory reset your Desire 826, visit this thread to learn how

Enter Safe Mode to Uninstall 3rd Party Apps:

NOTE: If you have installed a 3rd party app that prevents you from uninstalling it for whatever reason (it might run processes in the background that can't be stopped), then you can easily remove the app by first rebooting your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode all third party apps are disabled. To enter safe mode:

    1. Press and hold "Power"
    2. From the pop-up, tap and hold "Power off"
    3. You should be prompted to "Reboot in safe mode". Tap "Restart"
    4. Your phone should now reboot in safe mode. To make sure, a "Safe Mode" message should be displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen
    5. From the home screen, tap "Apps" > "Settings"
    6. Swipe to "Phone", tap "Apps" and swipe to the "Downloaded" section
    7. Select the application you want to remove and tap "Uninstall"
    8. Press "OK" to confirm
