    Back Up Phone Data to Google Drive:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down while on the home screen
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Tap “Backup & reset” > “Backup account”
    4. Tap “HTC Account” and sign in with your account
    5. In the “Cloud Storage” screen, tap “Google Drive” > “OK”
    6. Sign in with your Google account to gain access to Google Drive
    7. Optionally, enable “Automatic backup”. Tap “Back up now” to manually back up data

    NOTE: To set your phone to create daily backups over Wi-Fi, go to “Settings” and tap “Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi”.

    Restore Data from Google Drive:

    1. Sign in with your backup account (or after a master reset, tap “Restore from HTC Backup”)
    2. Access the history screen and select the backup you want to restore
    3. Tap “Next” and at the prompt, and if necessary sign in with your Google account
    4. Allow HTC Backup to connect to Google Drive
    5. Tap “Next” to restore the files backed up on Drive

    Back Up and Restore Data Locally

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Tap “Phone” on the home screen
    2. Go to the “People” tab
    3. Press “Menu” > “Manage contacts”
    4. Tap “Import / Export contacts” > “Export to SD card”
    5. Tap “Export to SD card” or “Export to phone storage”
    6. Choose an account to use for the backup
    7. Tap “Yes” if you want to set a backup password
    8. Tap “OK”

    Restore Contacts:

    1. Open “People”
    2. Press “Menu” > “Manage Contacts”
    3. Tap “Import / Export contacts” > “Import contacts from phone storage” / “[…] SD card”
    4. If necessary, select an account
    5. Select the desired backup file and tap “OK”
    6. Assuming the file is password-protected, enter the password and tap “OK”

    Back Up Messages:

    1. Open “Messages”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Backup / Restore SMS”
    3. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS”
    4. Optionally, set a password for the backup file
    5. Enter a name for the backup file and tap “OK”

    Back Up Text Messages via Email:

    1. Launch “Messages”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Back up / Restore SMS”
    3. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS via email”
    4. If desired you can set a password for the backup file
    5. Ensure that the email contains the attached backup file
    6. Lastly, send the email to your own email address

    NOTE: You can restore messages backed up this way by opening the email, downloading the attached backup file, and importing its contents using the “Messages” application

    Back Up / Restore Tasks:

    1. Launch “Tasks”
    2. Press “Menu”
    3. Tap “Import / Export”
    4. Tap “Export to SD card”


    1. To restore tasks, first launch “Tasks”
    2. Press “Menu” > “Import / Export”
    3. Tap “Import from SD card”
    4. Select the backup file and follow the on-screen prompts

    Back Up Your Dictionary:

    1. Access “Settings”
    2. Tap “Language & Keyboard”
    3. Tap “HTC Sense Input” > “Personal dictionary”
    4. Press “Menu”
    5. Tap “Back up to storage”
    6. Tap “Back up to email” > “OK”

    Restore a Dictionary:

    1. Open “Settings” and tap “Languages & keyboard”
    2. Tap “HTC Sense Input”
    3. Tap “Personal dictionary”
    4. Press “Menu" and tap “Restore from storage”
    5. Tap “OK”
