WARNING! If you master reset the Galaxy On7, all personal data stored on the internal memory will be removed, including media files, downloads, contacts, ringtones, etc. Furthermore all settings will be restored to factory values.

NOTE: Before you master reset the phone you can visit this thread for a guide on how to back up data, and this thread for instructions on how to restore data on the Galaxy On7.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
    4. Optionally, enable or disable “Back up my data” and “Restore”
    5. Tap “Factory data reset” > “Reset device”
    6. In case your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter the security credentials to proceed
    7. Tap “Continue” and press “Delete all” to confirm and reset the phone

    Factory Reset via Settings:

NOTE: In case you are unable to master reset the phone using the method above, you should be able to reset it via recovery. The recovery menu can be accessed by performing a combination of physical button presses.

    1. Turn off the phone
    2. Press and hold “Volume Up” and “Home” at the same time, then press and hold “Power” too
    3. At the “Samsung” splash screen, release the “Power” button
    4. At the “Android” logo screen, release “Volume Up” and “Home” and wait for the “Android system recovery” menu to load
    5. From the Recovery menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to highlight “wipe data / factory reset”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. Press “Volume down” to highlight “Yes – delete all user data”
    8. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    9. Wait for the reset to complete, and “Reboot system now” should be then highlighted
    10. Press “Power” to reboot your device

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After a fresh factory reset you should verify if a new software update is available for download on your phone. To do this:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll down to “System”
    4. Tap “About device”
    5. Check the software version and whether a newer one is available. If so, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it
