    Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your apps doesn’t work as intended or takes up too much storage, you might be able to fix it by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data you will remove all of your personal data stored within the app, including credit card and login information, profiles, high scores, saved games etc. As such, you should first try fixing the app by clearing its cache.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Phone
    3. Tap “Apps” and access the “All” tab
    4. Select the desired app and tap “Clear cache
    5. If necessary, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (read Warning above)

    Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition.

    1. First, turn off the phone
    2. Press and hold “Volume Down
    3. Press “Power” and release the button when the phone vibrates
    4. From the “hTC download mode” menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to highlight “reboot to bootloader”
    5. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    6. Press “Volume down” to highlight “Boot to recovery mode” and press “Power
    7. At the red exclamation mark, press & hold “Power”, then press and release “Volume up
    8. In the “Android system Recovery” menu, press “Volume down” to highlight “wipe cache partition
    9. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    10. Once the cache partition is cleared, ensure “Reboot system now” is highlighted and press “Power

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the issues, you can visit this thread to learn how you can factory reset the device instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If you have installed a third party app that causes issues and you are unable to remove it from the phone, you should be able to easily uninstall the app by first rebooting your device in safe mode.

    1. If necessary, wake up the screen
    2. Press and hold “Power
    3. From the “Power options” window, tap & hold “Power off
    4. When prompted to “Reboot to safe mode”, tap “Restart
    5. After the phone restarts, a “Safe Mode” label should be visible in the lower-left area of the screen
    6. To remove an app, first access “Settings” and scroll to “Phone
    7. Tap “Apps” and swipe to “Downloaded
    8. Select the desired application and tap “Uninstall” > “OK
    9. To exit safe mode, press & hold “Power”, then tap “Restart
