    Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Under “Device”, tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” > “Battery saver”
    5. Select to enable Battery Safe Mode

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when not in use (including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS), you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” tiles to disable the features
    3. Open the “Settings” menu
    4. Tap “Location” > “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “Wireless & networks”
    6. Tap “Mode” > “Tethering & mobile hotspot”
    7. Tap to turn off “Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot”

    Use 2G Instead of 4G:

NOTE: When in need, you can squeeze a bit of extra battery life from your phone by switching from 4G connectivity to 2G.

    1. Access “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Wireless & networks”
    3. Tap “More” > “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type” and select “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Tap “Display” under “Device”
    3. Tap “Brightness level”
    4. If necessary, turn off “Adaptive brightness”
    5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    6. Return to “Display” and tap “Sleep”
    7. Select a lower timeout setting like “15 seconds”

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Certain third party apps on your phone can affect battery performance even when not in use. This is because some apps can perform regular background processes. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings” and tap “Apps”
    3. Access the “Downloads” tab and select the desired app
    4. Tap “Disable” / “Force stop”
    5. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your accounts to sync less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Access “Accounts” and select the desired account type
    3. Browse the list and tap to disable the desired (available) sync options
