    Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. If necessary, access the “General” tab
    4. Swipe to “Phone management”
    5. Tap “Battery & power saving”
    6. Set the switch to “ON”
    7. You can customize how Battery Saving Mode works by clearing / ticking the check boxes, and by selecting a battery percentage at which the mode should enable automatically

    Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth:

    NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Go to the “Networks” tab if necessary
    4. Tap “Tethering” under “Connectivity”
    5. Tap “Mobile Hotspot” and set the switch to “OFF”
    6. Return to the “Settings” menu
    7. Tap the “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” switches to disable these features
    8. Under “Personal”, tap “Location” (GPS)
    9. Tap “Mode” > “Battery saving (Networks only)”

    Use 2G Connectivity:

    NOTE: In case your smartphone is running low on battery and you don’t have access to a wall socket, you can try to increase battery life by switching to 2G connectivity.

    1. Access the “Settings” menu
    2. If necessary, go to the “Networks” tab
    3. Under “Connectivity”, tap “More”
    4. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
    5. Select “GSM only”

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Go to the “Display” tab if necessary
    4. Under “Other screen settings”, tap “Brightness”
    5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
    6. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value, such as “15 seconds”

    Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

    NOTE: Certain third party apps can affect battery performance even when not in use. This is due to the fact that certain apps perform regular background processes. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. If necessary, switch to the “General” tab
    4. Under “Phone Management”, tap “Apps”
    5. Go to the “Downloaded” tab
    6. Tap and hold the desired application
    7. Tap “Force stop” to turn off the app, or tap “Uninstall” to remove the app from the device

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Access the “Networks” tab if necessary
    4. Tap “Mobile data”
    5. Tap “Menu” and enable “Restrict background data”
    6. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: By setting your accounts to sync less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. If necessary, go to the “General” tab
    4. Under “Personal” tap “Accounts & Sync”
    5. Disable “Auto-sync data”
    6. Under “Accounts”, adjust the sync settings for your account / apps

    Keep the OS Up to Date:

    NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, so it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Access the “General” tab if necessary
    4. Tap “About phone” under “Phone Management”
    5. Tap “Update Center” > “System updates”
    6. Tap “Check for update” and if necessary, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply any available updates
