    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Access the “Settings” menu
    3. Under “Device”, tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and turn on “Battery saver”

    Turn Off Connectivity When Unused:

    NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run. To do this:

    1. On the home screen, drag the “Notification” bar down
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Location”, and “Wi-Fi” tiles to turn off these features
    3. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
    4. For additional GPS options, go to “Location”
    5. Next, tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    6. To turn off Hotspot, return to “Settings”
    7. Then, tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    8. Tap to turn off “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot”

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Connectivity:

    NOTE: In case you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery pack and you want to conserve your smartphone’s battery life, you can do so by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity until the next recharge.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More”
    3. Tap “Mobile Networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type”
    5. Select “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some of the third party apps on your phone might affect battery life even when they are not in use, due to the fact that certain apps run regular background processes. As such, by turning off or removing unused third party apps, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Access the “Downloaded” tab
    4. Select the desired app
    5. Tap “Disable” / “Force stop” to turn off the app
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

    Change The Sync Settings For Your Accounts / Apps:

    NOTE: By setting your accounts / apps to sync less data throughout the day, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal”
    4. Tap “Accounts”
    5. Select the desired account type
    6. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
    7. If necessary, tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Access the phone’s “Settings” screen
    2. Under “Device”, tap “Display”
    3. Disable “Adaptive brightness” if necessary
    4. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
    5. Return to the “Display” menu
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value such as “15 seconds”

    Keep the OS Up To Date:

    NOTE: Certain software updates can include battery life improvements, and thus it’s recommended to keep your phone up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “System” and tap “About phone”
    4. Tap “System updates” and check if a new version is available for download
    5. If necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the updating process. NOTE: It may require a reboot to complete
