WARNING! Factory resetting your phone will lead to the deletion of all your personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory, this includes media files, applications, contacts, downloaded content etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values. However, data stored on the SIM and SD cards will not be deleted.

NOTE: Before you master reset the LG X Cam, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can back up data, and this thread for a guide on how to restore data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. While on the home screen, swipe the “Notification” bar down
    2. Tap “Settings” in the upper-right corner
    3. Go to “General”
    4. Tap “Backup & reset”
    5. Clear or check “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore”
    6. Tap “Backup account” and, if necessary, select or sign in with your Google account
    7. Tap “Factory data reset”
    8. Select whether to “Erase SD card” too. WARNING – by enabling this option, all data stored on the SD card will be permanently deleted during the factory reset
    9. Tap “Reset phone” > “Next”
    10. Tap “Delete all”
    11. Press “OK” to confirm

Factory Reset via Recovery (Hardware Buttons):

NOTE: In case your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise doesn’t allow you to reset it via Settings, alternatively you can try resetting the phone from the System Recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing a combination of button presses.

    1. First, make sure your phone is turned off
    2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
    3. When the “LG” logo appears, quickly release and re-hold “Power”
    4. Once you gain access to the “Factory data reset” screen, release the hardware buttons
    5. From the recovery menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “Yes”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. At the “Erase all user data and restore default settings” prompt, press “Volume down” to highlight “Yes”
    8. Press “Power” once again to confirm the selection and reset the phone

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: Once you reset the phone, it’s recommended to verify if newer software updates are available for download. To do this:

    1. Swipe the “Notification” bar down on the home screen
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Tap “General” > “About phone”
    4. Tap “Software info”
    5. Check if a new software version is available, and if necessary, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply it
