    Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Under “Device”, tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver” mode

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS when these features are unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” tiles to disable these options
    3. For more GPS options, go to “Settings” and tap “Location”
    4. Then, tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. For Hotspot settings, return to “Settings”
    6. Then, tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Disable “Tethering & Mobile hotspot”

    Switch to 2G Networks:

    NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Turn on “2G”

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Display” under “Device”
    3. Disable “Adaptive brightness” if necessary
    4. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the slider to the left
    5. Return to “Display” and tap “Sleep”
    6. Choose a lower timeout duration, such as “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: By changing your apps / accounts’ sync settings to minimize sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “personal” and tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account type and clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to turn off

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party applications perform regular background process even when they are not in use. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps from your phone, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “Apps” under “Device”
    3. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired application
    4. Tap “Disable” / “Force stop” to turn off the app
    5. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

    Check for Software Updates:

    NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to power management and battery life. As such, it’s recommended to keep your phone up to date at all times. To check for OS updates:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Verify if a new update is available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply the update. NOTE: This process will require you to restart your phone
