    Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications crashes, freezes, takes up too much storage inexplicably or doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache / or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all personal data stored within the app will be deleted. This includes settings, save files, profiles, credit card and login information etc. To avoid losing personal data, clear only the application’s cache.

    1. Swipe the “Notification” bar down on the home screen
    2. Launch “Settings
    3. Access the “General” tab and tap “Apps
    4. Swipe to “All” and select the desired app
    5. Tap “Clear cache
    6. If necessary, tap “Clear data” > “Yes” (Read WARNING above)

    Wipe the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably and you’re considering factory resetting it, you can try solving these issues without a factory reset by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can yield results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data.

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
    2. Launch “Settings
    3. Access the “General” tab if necessary
    4. Tap “Storage” and wait for the phone to calculate the data
    5. To clear the cache, tap “Cached data” > “Yes
    6. Wait for the cache to be cleared and once done, you should see a considerable lower value under “Cached data

NOTE: In case clearing the cache didn’t solve the issues, you can alternatively try to factory reset the phone. Visit this thread for instructions on how to do so.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: In case you have installed a third party app on your phone that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to easily uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In Safe Mode all third party apps are disabled by default.

    1. Wake the screen up if necessary
    2. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
    3. Tap and hold “Power off” in the power management pop-up menu
    4. At the “Restart in Safe mode” prompt, tap “OK” to confirm
    5. Wait for the phone to reboot. Once done, you should see a “safe mode” label in the lower-left corner of the screen
    6. To remove an app, first open “Settings
    7. Go to the “General” tab
    8. Tap “Apps” and access “Downloaded
    9. Select the desired app and tap “uninstall” > “OK
    10. Once the app has been removed, you can exit Safe Mode by restarting your device as you normally would. Press and hold “Power” and tap “power off
