    The network architecture of each carrier is different and that may sometime lead to some issues.

    found this and it says the routing from the other carrier is the reason for such issues.
    "Calls from analogue lines on the MTSallstream network
    displays name and number on Rogers cell phone. Calls that are
    originating from other sources (such as pri/sip etc) which have a
    different method of generating name display are discarded by Rogers
    gateway switch"

    Hi, recently I faced an issue over VoIP network. I called my home through my office phone. Both are using a different service provider.
    Here at my office, we are using VoIP phones and my home we are using a DSL phone connection. My wife told me that the home phone is showing some weird characters instead of Caller ID. I checked this issue with my Carrier(from my office) and they told me that the issue is with my home service provider. Later they provided me a link to their KB.

    I don't know why some service providers are blocking such security features? anyone have any idea on this matter please share it?
