    Back Up App Data:

    1. Open the apps drawer on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings
    3. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal
    4. Turn on “Back up my data” to back up app data to your Google account
    5. Turn on “Automatic restore” to allow app data to be automatically restored when signing in with your Google backup account

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to and tap “Accounts
    3. Select the account type and account you want to use for syncing contacts
    4. Turn on “Contacts” if necessary
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now

    NOTE: Contacts backed up using this particular method can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your Google backup account.

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Alcatel Shine Lite to your computer via USB
    2. Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Use the Explorer to locate and copy the media files on the phone
    5. Paste the files in the desired backup location on the computer
    6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Alcatel device to your computer via USB
    2. Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups on the PC storage
    4. Copy the desired files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) they originate from
    5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
