    Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    5. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By turning Off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth when not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Location”, “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” to disable these features
    3. For more GPS (Location) options, open “Settings”
    4. Next, tap “Location” > “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To turn off Wi-Fi Hotspot, go back to “Settings”
    6. Then tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the switch to OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Drag the “Brightness” slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease brightness
    3. Next, open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, turn “Automatic brightness” ON or OFF
    6. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    4. Tap an account and change the desired sync settings to reduce sync

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes, and thus they can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By turning off or removing unused third party applications, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Make sure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired app
    5. Tap “Force Stop” to disable the app, or alternatively, tap “Uninstall” to remove the app from the phone

NOTE: An alternative method to uninstalling apps is to open the apps drawer and then dragging and dropping the app’s shortcut on top of the “Uninstall” section at the top.

    Keep the Software Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply any available updates (NOTE: This process will require a reboot)
