    Enable Power Saving Mode:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Power saving mode” and set the switch “ON”
    5. Select the battery percentage at which the mode enables automatically

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By turning off the phone’s connectivity features when unused, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Tethering & Mobile hotspot” under “Connections”
    3. Tap the switch next to “Hotspot” OFF
    4. Return to the home screen and swipe the “Status” bar down
    5. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” (GPS) and “Bluetooth” tiles to disable the features

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More connection settings” under “Connections”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Network mode” and enable “GSM only”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    3. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”
    4. Disable “Automatic brightness” from the “Display” menu
    5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease screen brightness

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Data usage” under “Connections”
    3. Tap “More”
    4. Tap “Restrict background data” > “OK” to confirm

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes, and as such they can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party applications, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
    3. Tap “Application manager” and swipe to “Downloaded”
    4. Select the desired app
    5. Tap “Disable” / “Force stop” to turn the app OFF
    6. To remove the app from the device, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ / apps’ sync settings to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts” and select the desired account
    4. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

Keep the OS Up to Date:

NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated. To check for OS updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “About device” under “System”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Assuming that an update is available, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply it (NOTE: the update process will require at least one device restart)
