That's why i got insurance on my Ipad Air 2 In cases like the screen breaks or weather damage occurs, etc., I always recommend a good Insurance. Here a relatively good Online Insurance Test. Its pretty easy, try it out.

good tutor there.. I will try it myself on my friends lappy.
Here, @ the service center, last time they charged some 300 Rupees for changing the screen. I didn't know about it though. Let me experiment it... hope I wont burn the circuit.. lolz.

This time the DC power plug needs repair.
That means major surgery: emachines M2350 MOBO removal to access the plug.
I Got a couple of guides to follow, i'll post back with my results.

Usually dead pixels and related LCD screens problems can only be solved by replacing the screen itself, it's not hard science, as the replacement kits usually have all the parts needed, the LCD itself and a new interface cable.

I've done a couple of Dell laptop LCD replacement and was easy.

Really? That's odd, take a pic of where you connected it to the PC

Congrats, looking forward to reading it

I did it! It's done, and I luv it. I will edit and post the link to the guide they gave 2nite.
(The keyboard did not have to be disturbed...just the plastic bezel around the screen)

My Emachines laptop had a red vertical line in the middle of the screen,
    and the screen flickered occasionally.

The line is a dead pixel, which in time developed in to four lines:
2 blue and 2 red; and sometimes a yellow.

The flickering is a backlight issue.
The problems could be caused by connections, cables, backlight, backlight inverter, or the LCD screen. I opted for the later, replaced it and it looks like brand new!

I got the screen NIB off eBay from LaptopScreen1.com. They even link to a guide to do the repair.
It’s easy, if I can do it, any one can do it…or they will do it for a nominal fee.
