    6. Select a battery percentage at which the mode turns ON automatically

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Display” and enable or disable “Automatic brightness”
    4. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    5. Return to “Display” and tap “Screen timeout”
    6. Select a lower timeout value such as “15 seconds”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features and Use 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run. Furthermore, if you run low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can temporarily switch to 2G networks to conserve battery life until the next recharge.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Access “Connections”
    3. Tap to disable the desired connectivity options
    4. Tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and disable the option
    5. To switch to 2G networks, scroll to “Connections”
    6. Tap “More connection settings”
    7. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
    8. Enable “GSM only”

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Connections”
    3. Tap “Data usage” > “More”
    4. Tap “Restrict background data” > “OK”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes, and thus they can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Applications” > “Application manager”
    5. Go to “Downloaded”
    6. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” / “Force Stop” to disable the app
    7. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts / apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal”
    4. Tap “Accounts” and select an account type and the desired account
    5. Clear the tick boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
    6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now” to confirm

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Some OS updates can include battery life improvements, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for OS updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “System”
    3. Tap “About device” and follow the on-screen steps to download and apply any available updates
