    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery”
    4. Enable “Battery saving mode” and tap “Start power saving”
    5. Select a battery percentage at which the mode enables automatically

Disable Unused Connectivity Features and Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run. This includes Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth. Furthermore, if your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “Contacts”
    3. Select to disable the available connectivity options
    4. Next, tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and disable the option
    5. To use 2G networks, go to “Connections” > “More connection settings”
    6. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
    7. Select “GSM only”

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Connections”
    3. Tap “Data usage” > “More”
    4. Tap “Restrict background data”
    5. Press “OK” to confirm

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes, and thus they can potentially affect battery life even when they are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
    4. Tap “Application manager” and go to “Downloaded”
    5. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable” to turn the app OFF
    6. Alternatively, tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to remove the app

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Display” and optionally, enable or disable “Automatic brightness”
    4. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    5. Return to “Display” and tap “Screen timeout”
    6. Select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ / apps’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts” and select an account type
    4. Select the desired account
    5. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
    6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

    Keep the Software Updated:

NOTE: Some OS updates can include battery life improvements, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To verify if new updates are available:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “System”
    3. Tap “About device”
    4. Follow the on-screen steps to download and apply any available updates
