    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Turn Off Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By turning off your phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use – including GPS, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” tiles to turn the features Off
    3. For more options, go to “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Location” (GPS) and tap “Mode”
    5. Enable “Battery saving”
    6. To turn Off Hotspot, go to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Then, tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Drag the “Brightness” slider towards the left to decrease screen brightness
    3. For more options, go to “Settings”
    4. Then scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower value to decrease screen timeout duration

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes and thus they can potentially affect battery life even when not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Ensure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    4. Tap “Force stop” to disable the app, or tap “Uninstall” to remove the app from the phone

    Change Settings to Reduce Sync:

NOTE: By reducing your accounts/apps’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts”
    4. Select the desired account to reduce the amount of synced data

    Keep the Software Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life, and thus it’s generally recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for OS updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates” and verify if an update is available
    4. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update. NOTE: The update process will require at least one reboot
