    NOTE: For a guide on how to back up data on the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4, visit this thread.

    Restore Contacts from an SD Card:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
    3. Go to “Contacts”
    4. Select “Import / Export contacts” > “Import”
    5. Tap “SD Card”
    6. Select to import a single or multiple vCard files
    7. If necessary, select the vCard you want to restore
    8. Choose to restore contacts on “Device storage” or to sync the contacts with Google

    Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “Accounts” under “User and Backup”
    3. Go to “Google”
    4. Select your email address or username at the top
    5. Ensure “Contacts” is checked and tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

    Restore Media Files from an SD Card Backup:

    1. Open “My Files”
    2. Scroll to “Local storage” and tap “SD Card”
    3. Tap “More” > “Edit”
    4. Check the tick boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
    5. Tap “More” > “Move” > “Device storage”
    6. Navigate to and select the target folder, or tap “Create folder”
    7. Tap “Move here” to restore the files

    Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” from the Notification area or when prompted
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate and copy the media file backups on the PC
    5. Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) they originate from
    6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

    Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

    1. Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open Kies on the Mac
    4. Access “Back up / restore” and tap the “Restore” tab
    5. Tick the boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos” and other media file types you want to restore. Alternatively, you can “Select all” media files
    6. Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen prompts
    7. After the restore is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
    8. You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
