WARNING! While applying a factory reset on your smartphone can help you solve various issues with the device, you need to keep in mind that a factory reset will delete all the personal data stored on the phone's internal memory. This includes custom ringtones, images, downloaded content, apps, and contacts. However, data stored on the SD and SIM cards will not be affected.

NOTE: If necessary, you can back up your data before proceeding with the reset. To learn how you can back up and restore data on the HTC One Mini 2, follow this link for a full guide.

Master Resetting From the Settings Menu:

    1. While viewing the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Under "Personal", tap "Backup & reset"
    4. Update the following settings as you desire:
      • Automatic backup (on/off)
      • Back up now: select "Use mobile data connections" or "Switch to Wi-Fi connections"
      • App data and settings restore (on/off)
    5. Tap "Reset phone". If the device is screen locked, you'll need to enter the PIN / Password / pattern etc. before proceeding
    6. Mark the check box associated with "Erase all data". WARNING! Selecting "Erase SD card" as well will result in the deletion of all data stored on the SD card
    7. Tap "OK"
    8. Review the on-screen message and tap "No Thanks" or "Backup now"
    9. From the "Warning" message, tap "OK" to reset your smartphone
    10. Wait for your One Mini 2 to reboot

Master Resetting Using Hardware Keys (Recovery Menu):

NOTE: Use this method of resetting in case you are unable to apply the factory reset from the settings menu.

    1. With your smartphone turned on, press and hold the "Power" button
    2. Tap "Power off"
    3. With the handset turned off, press and hold the "Volume Down" button
    4. Press and release the "Power" key to turn on the phone
    5. Keep holding the "Volume Down" button until you see three "Androids" at the bottom of the screen. Once that happens, release the "Volume Down" key"
    6. From the "HBOOT" menu, press "Volume Down" to navigate to and highlight "Factory Reset"
    7. Press "Power" to select the option, and wait for your smartphone to reset and reboot
