    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity options when they are not in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Location”, “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” toggles to disable the features
    3. Access “Settings”
    4. Go to “Location” (GPS) and tap “Mode” > “Battery saving”
    5. To disable Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & potable hotspot” and turn the feature OFF

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings” for additional options
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower screen timeout value

Change Sync Settings to Reduce Sync:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run. To do this:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Access “Accounts”
    4. Select an existing account and turn OFF the desired sync options

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” and make sure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired application
    5. Tap “Force Stop” to disable the app, or:
    6. Tap “Uninstall” to remove the app from the phone

NOTE: Another method for removing an app is to open the app drawer and then drag & drop the app’s shortcut over the “Uninstall” section at the top.

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply any available updates. NOTE: The update process will require at least one reboot
