    6. For additional options, access "Display & Gestures” and tap “Screen timeout”
    7. Select a lower timeout value

Turn Off the Phone’s Connectivity Features When Unused:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” switches to turn the features Off
    3. For GPS options, scroll to and tap “Location”

    6. Tap “Mobile network sharing” and turn “Mobile Hotspot” Off

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your smartphone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “Mobile data”
    3. Tap “Network mode”
    4. Enable “GSM only”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts/apps sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “Accounts & Sync”
    3. Select an app to disable background processes
    4. For additional sync options, select an account type and account

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life when the apps are not in use. By removing or disabling unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Phone”
    3. Tap “Apps”
    4. Go to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
    5. Tap “Disable” to turn the app OFF
    6. To remove the app from the device, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Phone”
    3. Tap “About” > “System information”
    4. Tap “Check now”. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot
