    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display”
    5. Enable or disable “adaptive brightness”
    6. For timeout settings, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity options when not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Return to “Settings” and tap “Location” for additional GPS options
    4. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    5. For Hotspot options, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Then tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the switch “Off”

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” and access “Preferred network type”
    4. Select “2G”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account and turn the desired sync options Off to reduce sync

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes, which can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” and ensure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired app
    5. To turn the app Off, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS Updates include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Go to “System updates”
    4. Verify if a new update is available and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update(s). NOTE: the process will require at least one reboot
