    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: By changing your phone’s connectivity features including Hotspot, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS)” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings” for additional options
    4. Tap “Location” > “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To turn Hotspot Off, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and disable the feature

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

    NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Preferred networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life when not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” and if necessary, select “All apps” in the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To turn the app Off, tap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts” and select the desired account
    4. Change the available sync settings to reduce sync

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available, and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install available updates. NOTE: the process will require at least one reboot
