Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
    3. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display” and turn “Adaptive brightness” On or Off
    5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. For more GPS options, go to “Location” > “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To turn Hotspot Off, tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks” in “Settings”
    6. Then tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Temporarily Use 2G Networks:

NOTE: In case your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily using 2G networks only.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Access “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

    Reduce Sync:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “Accounts” under “Personal”
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Change the account’s sync settings to reduce sync

    Minimize Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect battery life when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “Apps” under “Device”
    3. Ensure “All apps” is selected from the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired app
    5. To turn the app off, tap “Force stop”
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: Certain OS updates can improve battery life, and as such it’s recommended to keep the software updated at all times. To check of new updates are available:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if new updates are available
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update(s) (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
