    Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: In case one of your apps doesn’t work as intended, freezes, crashes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache and/or data.

WARNING! When you clear the app’s data, all your personal app data stored within the app will be deleted. This includes credit card and login information, settings, save files, user profiles, high scores etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Go to “Apps
    3. Select the desired app
    4. Tap “Storage
    5. To clear the app’s cache, tap “Clear cache
    6. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” (check the WARNING above)

    Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can yield results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data stored on the device.

    1. First turn the phone Off
    2. Next, press and hold “Home” and “Volume Up” at the same time, then press and hold “Power” as well
    3. At the “Android” logo, release all buttons and wait for up to 60 seconds to gain access to Android Recovery
    4. Once in the Recovery menu, navigate to and highlight “wipe data / factory reset” by pressing “volume down
    5. Confirm the highlighted option by pressing “Power
    6. Highlight “Yes” using the volume rocker and press “Power” again
    7. After the cache partition is cleared, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the issues, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall and App:

NOTE: If you have installed a third party app that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, all third party app are disabled.

    1. If necessary, turn the phone Off
    2. Press and hold “Power” past the model name screen
    3. At the “Samsung” logo, release “Power” and immediately press and hold “volume down” instead
    4. Keep the volume button pressed until the phone finishes rebooting (NOTE: a Safe Mode label should be visible in the lower area of the home screen)
    5. To remove an application, first access “Settings
    6. Go to “Apps” and select the desired application
    7. Tap “Uninstall” to remove the app
    8. Once done, exit safe mode by pressing and holding “Power” and tapping “Restart
