    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout option such as “15 seconds”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Wi-Fi” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings” for additional options

    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the feature off

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Access “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

NOTE: By decreasing the amount of data synced by your accounts/apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”

    3. Tap “Accounts”
    4. Select the desired account
    5. Change the available sync settings to reduce sync

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps can perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Apps” under “Device”
    3. Make sure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired app
    5. To turn the app off, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if new updates are available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and install the update. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot
