    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Device
    3. Tap “Battery
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display
    5. Turn “Adaptive brightness” On or Off
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: You can conserve battery life by disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the status bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Location” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings
    4. Tap “Location” for GPS options
    5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving
    6. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the feature off

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

    NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type
    4. Enable “2G

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps
    3. Select “All apps” in the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired app
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Change the account’s sync settings to reduce sync

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone
    3. Tap “System updates
    4. Verify if a new update is available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply updates (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
