    NOTE: You can visit this thread for a guide on how to back up data on the Samsung device.

    Restore Contacts from an SD Card:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Applications” and go to “Contacts”
    5. Select to “Import/Export contacts”
    6. Tap “Import” > “SD Card”
    7. Select to import a single or multiple vCard files
    8. If necessary, tap the vCard you want to restore
    9. Select to store contacts on “Device storage” or to sync them with “Google”

    Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “User and Backup”
    3. Access “Accounts”
    4. Select “Google” and your email address or username at the top of the screen
    5. Make sure “Contacts” is checked
    6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

    Restore Media Files from an SD Card:

    1. Open “My Files”
    2. Scroll to “Local storage”
    3. Tap “SD card” > “More” > “Edit”
    4. Tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
    5. Tap “More” > “Move” > “Device storage”
    6. Navigate to and select the desired target folder, or tap “Create folder”
    7. Tap “Move here”

    Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the Mac
    4. Locate the media file backups on the Mac storage
    5. Copy and transfer the backup files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
    6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Restore Media Files form a Mac Computer:

    1. Connect the phone to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” on the phone
    3. Launch Kies on the Mac and access “Back up / restore”
    4. Go to the “Restore” tab
    5. Tick the boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos” and other media file types you want to restore
    6. Select the desired files or tap “Select all”
    7. Click “Restore” to confirm
    8. Once the restore is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and into the “trash can”
    9. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
