    Back Up & Restore App Data:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset
    3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
    4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be automatically restored when signing in with the backup account or reinstalling apps

    Back Up and Restore Contacts:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Go to “Accounts
    3. Select an account type and the account to use for the backup
    4. Tick the “Contacts” check box
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

    NOTE: You can restore contacts the next time you sign in with the backup account or by syncing the account data with the smartphone.

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Alcatel Idol 5S to your PC via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or form the notification area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC
    5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the media backup files on the phone
    5. Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
    6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
