    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery”
    4. Press “Menu”
    5. Enable “Battery saver”

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the status bar down
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings” for additional options
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” On or Off
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower screen timeout value

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Wi-Fi” and “Location” (GPS) quick toggles to disable the features
    3. For additional options, go to “Settings” > “Location”
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To disable Hotspot, tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks” in “Settings”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot”
    7. Set the feature Off

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

    NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Access “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Select “2G”

    Reduce Sync:

    NOTE: By changing your account’s sync settings to reduce sync you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and go to “Accounts”
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Change the available settings to reduce sync

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect battery life even when they are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Ensure “All apps” is selected from the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop”/ “Disable”
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. TO check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply the update. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot
