    Turn Unused Connectivity OFF:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity off when not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the status bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Access “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when they are not actively in use. By disabling or remove unused third party apps, you may improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” and select “All apps” in the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app from the device, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change the sync settings of your apps/accounts to reduce sync and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Accounts” under “Personal”
    3. Select an account type and the desired account
    4. Change the sync settings to reduce sync

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and as such it’s recommended to keep the software updated at all times. To check if new updates are available:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and install the update (NOTE: the update process will require at least one device restart)
