    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “Battery” under “Device”
    3. Press “Menu”
    4. Turn “Battery saver” ON

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings” and tap “Display” under “Device”
    4. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use – such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS – you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Location”, “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. For GPS options, tap “Location”
    5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    6. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the feature OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: if your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by switching to 2G networks temporarily.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks” tap “More”
    3. Go to “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps form the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” and select “All apps” from the drop-down menu
    4. Tap “Force Stop” / “Disable” to turn the app OFF
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts and applications.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account type and desired account
    5. Change the available options to reduce sync

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply updates (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
