    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
    2. From the Notification area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
    3. Launch “Settings” for more options
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. Tap “Sleep” for timeout options and choose a lower value

    Disable the Phone’s Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS and Bluetooth when not actively in use to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Scroll to and access “Location”
    5. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    6. Go back to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the feature OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

    NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Access “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Ensure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired application
    5. Tap “Force Stop” to disable the app, or “Uninstall” to remove the app from the phone

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: You can change the sync settings of your accounts to reduce sync and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account
    5. Disable the desired sync options

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and install the update (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
