    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu”
    5. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Next open “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    6. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
    2. Tap the “Location” (GPS), “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Launch “Settings” for more options and go to “Location”
    4. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the feature OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Go to “Mobile networks”
    4. Access “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can reduce the amount of data synced by your accounts in order to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type and account
    4. Change the available settings to reduce sync

    Minimize Third party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. Thus you can disable or remove unused third party apps to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps”
    4. Ensure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    5. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” to disable it
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone” > “System updates”
    3. Check if a new update is available
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
