    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
    3. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display” and enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout duration

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, including Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Location” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Launch “Settings” and go to “Location” for more GPS options
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

    NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: You can change your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync in order to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Change the desired settings to reduce sync

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when they are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Go to “All apps” and select the desired application
    4. Tap “Force stop” / “Disable” to turn the app off
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates” and check if a new update is available for download
    4. Check if a new update is available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply the update (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
