    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Device
    3. Go to “Battery
    4. Tap “Menu
    5. Enable “Battery saver

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen
    2. From the notification/quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider toward the left
    3. For more options go to “Settings
    4. Access “Display” and enable or disable “Adaptive brightness
    5. For screen timeout options go to “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use – including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth – to avoid unnecessary network scans and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. From the quick toggle area, tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” toggle to disable these features
    3. For more options go to “Settings
    4. Access “Location” and tap “Mode
    5. Enable “Battery saving
    6. For hotspot options, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the features OFF

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

    NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve the phone’s battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type
    4. Enable “2G

    Reduce Sync:

    NOTE: By changing your accounts’ settings to reduce sync you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Go to “Personal” and tap “Accounts
    3. Select an account type and the desired account
    4. Change the available sync settings to reduce sync as desired

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when they are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third –party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Tap “Apps
    3. Make sure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall

    Keep the OS Up To Date:

    NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone
    3. Access “System updates
    4. Verify if a new update is available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
