Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    2. Go to “Battery”
    3. Tap “Menu”
    4. Turn “Battery saver” ON and adjust the setting as desired

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and conserve the phone’s battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable these features
    3. Go to “Settings” for more options and access “Location” (GPS)
    4. Tap “mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks” for hotspot options
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Temporarily Use 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Reduce Sync:

NOTE: You can reduce the amount of data synced by your apps/accounts to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type
    4. Tap the desired account and change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Apps” and select “All apps” from the drop-down menu
    3. Select the desired application
    4. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    5. To remove the app, tap “uninstall”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can improve battery life and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check whether new updates are available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
