    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the Status bar down
    2. From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Launch “Settings” for more options and go to “Display”
    4. Enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. Tap “Sleep” for timeout options and select a lower value

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when not actively in use – including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially conserve battery life.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down
    2. From the quick toggle area, tap the “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) quick toggles to turn the features OFF
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Tap “Location” > “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    5. Go back to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot”
    7. Turn the feature OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you wish to conserve energy, switching to 2G networks until the next recharge can prolong battery life.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Access “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Sync:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type and the desired account
    4. Change the available settings as desired to decrease the amount of data being synced

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps, you may improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Apps”
    3. View “All apps” and select the desired application
    4. To disable the app, tap “Disable” / “Force Stop” to turn the app OFF
    5. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the software up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “About phone” > “System updates”
    3. Verify if a new update is available
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update (NOTE: the update process will require you to reboot the phone at least once)
