WARNING! When you factory reset the phone, all your personal information stored on the device will be deleted. This includes apps, media files, contacts, ringtones etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values.

NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on backing up data, and this thread for a guide on restoring data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “Phone management”
    3. Tap “Backup & reset”
    4. Clear or tick the boxes associated with “Automatic restore” and “Back up my data”
    5. Tap “Backup account” and select an account
    6. Tap “Factory data reset”
    7. Optionally, you can select to “Erase SD Card” too
    8. Tap “Reset phone”
    9. If necessary, enter your lock screen PIN/password
    10. When ready, tap “Delete all” > “Reset”

    Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and prevents you from resetting the device via settings, alternatively you can reset the phone from Recovery.

    1. First, turn the phone OFF
    2. Then, press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
    3. When the LG logo appears, quickly release and re-hold “Power”
    4. At the “Factory data reset” screen, release both buttons
    5. Next, press “Volume down” to navigate to and highlight “Yes”
    6. Press “Power” to confirm the highlighted option
    7. Then, when prompted to “Erase all user data and restore default settings” highlight “Yes” using the volume rocker
    8. Press “Power” to confirm
