Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Display”
    3. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    4. Optionally, you can turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    5. Go to “Sleep” for timeout options and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when not actively in use in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features OFF
    3. Open “Settings” for more options
    4. Go to “Location” for GPS options
    5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    6. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Access “Tethering & Portable hotspot” and turn the feature OFF

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve the battery until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Go to “Mobile networks”
    4. Access “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can disable or remove unused third-party apps to potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Access “Apps” and make sure you view “All apps”
    3. Select the desired app
    4. Tap “Disable” / ‘Force Stop” to turn the app off
    5. To remove an app, tap “Uninstall”

Change Account Settings to Decrease Sync:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type and the desired account
    4. Change the available settings to decrease sync as desired

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life, and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check if new updates are available:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “About phone” > “System updates”
    3. Check if a new update is available
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply the update (NOTE: this process will require at least one reboot)
