Change Account Settings to Reduce Sync:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Accounts”
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the device’s battery life when not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps from the device, you may improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Access “Settings”
    2. Go to “Apps” and ensure you are viewing “All apps”
    3. Select the desired application
    4. Tap “Force Stop” or “Disable”
    5. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable your phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features off
    3. Launch “Settings” and go to “Location” for GPS settings
    4. Then tap “mode” and select “Battery saving”
    5. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and turn the feature Off

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have the possibility to recharge it, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Go to “Mobile networks” > “preferred network type”
    4. Turn “2G” ON

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone” > “System updates”
    3. Verify if new updates are available for download
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the update (the update process will require to reboot the phone at least once)
