    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. For timeout settings, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to turn the features OFF
    3. Next tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    4. To disable Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    5. Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot”
    6. Turn the features OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks” tap “More”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ settings to reduce sync, you may improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type and the desired account
    4. Change the available settings to reduce sync

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when not actively in use. Thus you can disable or remove unused third-party app to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” > “All apps’
    4. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable” to confirm
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply the update (this will require you to reboot the device at least once)
