    At the moment, this is unlikely, given the basic functions of smartphones and their desire to reduce the size at all. In addition, it is not the main function of this device.     I read that sales of cameras are dropping as many are just using the cell phone cameras. While the quality is quite good and has improved drastically, there still is no way to get telephoto photos. I attempted photographing the Blue Moon and the Blood Moon recently and the photos were awful as the cellphone cameras just have no telephoto ability. Any chance that cell phones could be made to use for distant telephoto photography ?
