Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
    3. For more options open “Settings”
    4. Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    5. For timeout duration, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn off the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Go to “Location”
    5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    6. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot” and disable the features

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks” tap “More”
    3. Access “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “Apps” > “All apps”
    3. Select the desired app
    4. Tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    5. To remove the app from the device, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You may improve the phone’s battery life in the long run by reducing the amount of data synced by your apps/accounts.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Accounts”
    3. Select the desired account type and an account
    4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

    1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “About phone”
    2. Tap “System updates”
    3. Check if a new update is available
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply the update (the process will require you to reboot the device at least once)
