    NOTE: You can visit this thread for a guide on how to back up app data, contacts, and media files.

    Restore Contacts from SD Storage:

    1. Open “Settings” > “Device”
    2. Tap “Applications”
    3. Go to “Contacts”
    4. Select “Import/Export contacts”
    5. Tap “Import” > “SD Card”
    6. Select to import a single or multiple vCard files
    7. If needed, select the vCard(s) you want to restore
    8. Select to store the contacts on “Device storage” or “to sync them with your Google account

    Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “User and Backup”
    3. Tap “Accounts” > “Google”
    4. Select your email address or username
    5. Make sure the “Contacts” check box is ticked
    6. Tap “menu” > “Sync Now”

    Restore Media Files from SD Storage:

    1. Open “My Files”
    2. Go to “Local storage” > “SD Card”
    3. Tap “more” > “Edit”
    4. Tick the check boxes linked with the media files you want to restore
    5. Tap “More” > “Move” > “Device storage”
    6. Select the target folder or tap “Create folder” > “Move here”

    Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area on the phone
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
    5. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media “folder or the directories of origin
    6. After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

    Restore Media Files from a Mac:

    1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
    2. On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
    3. Go to the “Restore” tab
    4. Tick the check boxes associated with “Music” “Photos” and other media file types you want to restore
    5. Select the desired files or tap “Select all”
    6. Click “Restore” to start the process
    7. After the process completes, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it over the “Trash can”
    8. You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
