    Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try solving these issues by clearing the app’s cache and/or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app, such as login information, user profiles, apps etc. will be deleted. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Application
    3. Go to “Application manager
    4. Access “All” or “Downloaded
    5. Select the desired app and tap “Clear cache
    6. If clearing the app cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check the WARNING abvove)

    Wipe the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone doesn’t work as intended or runs out of storage inexplicably and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try and fix these issues by clearing the cache partition. This can lead to results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data from the phone.

    1. Turn the phone off if necessary
    2. Press and hold “Power” “home” and “Volume Up” at the same time
    3. At the Samsung log, release “Power
    4. At the “Android” screen release the buttons
    5. In Android Recovery, press “volume down” repeatedly to highlight “Wipe cache partition
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. After the cache partition is cleared, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power

Note: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

    1. Turn the phone Off if necessary
    2. Press and hold “Power
    3. At the “Samsung” logo release “Power” and immediately press and hold “Volume down” instead
    4. Wait for the phone to reboot and once done, it should show a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
    5. To remove an app, access “Settings” > “Applications
    6. Go to “Application manager” and select “Downloaded
    7. Select the app you want to remove and tap “Uninstall
    8. Once the app has been removed, exit Safe Mode by rebooting your phone normally
