WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, all your personal data located on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted. This includes downloaded content, ringtones and other media files, contacts, applications etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values but data stored on the SIM and SD storage won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before you factory reset the device, you can check this thread for a guide on backing up data, and this thread for instructions on restoring data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Access “Phone Management” and tap “Backup & Reset
    3. Tick or clear the check boxes associated with “Automatic restore” and “Back up my data
    4. Tap “Backup account
    5. Select the desired account and tap “Factory data reset
    6. Optionally choose to “Erase SD Card” as well
    7. If your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/ password to proceed
    8. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset” to confirm

    Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it using the method above, alternatively you can try resetting the phone via Recovery.

    1. First turn the phone off if necessary
    2. Then press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” simultaneously
    3. At the LG screen, quickly release and re-press “Power
    4. At the “Factory data reset” screen, release the keys
    5. Once in Recovery, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight “Yes
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. When prompted to “Erase all user data and restore default settings” highlight “Yes
    8. Press “Power” one last time
